Arriving in October, monarch butterflies cluster together on pine, cypress and eucalyptus trees in the Sanctuary. Their migration to Pacific Grove is so unique that Pacific Grove is nicknamed “Butterfly Town, U.S.A.” Join locals in welcoming the monarchs to PG during the special Annual Butterfly Days celebration (Sept. 29 – Oct. 1), including the Butterfly Parade and Bazaar, community potluck and picnic, children’s butterfly garden, special presentation by the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History and more.
