Mystic Whaler at Ventura Harbor Village
Anchors aweigh! Hoist the sails and step back in time aboard the Mystic Whaler, a 110-foot, two-masted schooner modeled after 19th-century coastal vessel, that will set sail on May 20, 2026, and make its voyage up the Santa Barbara Channel along the California Coast to the Ventura Harbor.
Dockside Tours at Ventura Harbor Village will give visitors a chance to set foot on deck and explore the storied ship, meet the crew, and learn the ropes of schooner life. Lovers of the sea can also hear captivating sea stories and discover how the Mystic Whaler keeps maritime traditions alive, while enjoying Ventura Harbor Village’s vibrant waterfront. Visits aboard the tall ship are free, with a suggested donation for adults $5 (kids are free). All activities are weather pending, and the schedule is subject to change.

40th Annual Pismo Beach Classic Car Show
Get ready for one of the largest classic car shows in the country. The 40th Annual Classic at Pismo Beach runs from May 29 through May 31, 2026 with thousands of visitors. Car lovers gather for a busy weekend with hundreds of show cars, live music, great food, and quality beach time.
The Classic at Pismo Beach brings car lovers from all over the world to our beach town. Classic cars take over the streets and major names like CarQuest, Mother’s Polish, Ford Motor Co., and Budweiser roll in with big rigs. What started in the early ’80s has become one of the best classic car shows on the West Coast.
The event also gives back. The Just Cruzin’ Life Foundation, through a live auction, raises money for causes like Folds of Honor, Ronald McDonald House, and the Pismo Beach K-9 Unit.
Admission is free to attend, but those looking to show vehicles must register with event organizers.
“Farm Day Every Day” tour at Rancho Olivos
Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG) is hosting a free “Farm Day Every Day” tour at Rancho Olivos on Saturday, May 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Visitors will tour the olive orchard and learn how different varieties of olive oil are made, including Rancho Olivos’ Blood Orange, basil, jalapeno, rosemary-garlic, and Meyer lemon flavored olive oils. The tour will end with an olive oil tasting.

Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop
Join us for a hands-on workshop where creativity and plant care come together. In this guided class, you’ll learn how to mount and care for a stunning staghorn fern—one of the most unique and sculptural plants you can grow.
Using moss, a natural backing, and simple materials, we’ll walk you step by step through the mounting process so you can create your own living wall art to take home. Along the way, you’ll also learn essential care techniques, including watering, light requirements, and long-term maintenance to help your fern thrive. All materials are included, and no experience is necessary—just come ready to get a little creative (and a little messy).

SYV Pride Parade and Festival
Produced by Santa Ynez Valley nonprofit, SYV Pride, the 2026 edition of SYV Pride month begins May 23, with an event line-up to include multiple winery- and saloon-hosted happenings plus the month’s main attraction: the Saturday, June 13, SYV Pride Parade and Festival in downtown Solvang.
The fifth annual SYV Pride Parade starts at 11:00 AM, and will roll through Solvang with floats, music, and more, ending with a colorful, family-friendly Pride Festival (12:00 PM) in and around Solvang Park. Open to adults and kids of all ages, the festival will feature a live DJ set, food vendors, a beer and wine garden, face painting, rock climbing, and more.

The Lompoc Valley Flower Festival at Ryon Memorial Park is a long standing community celebration honoring the region’s deep roots in the flower-growing industry. With the event’s origin dating back to the 1950s, the Flower Festival acknowledges the area’s agricultural heritage while bringing community members together.
Organized by the nonprofit Lompoc Valley Festival Association, this beloved event offers a mix of activities including a parade featuring flower-adorned floats, carnival attractions, arts and crafts vendors, food booths, and live entertainment.
Solvang 4th of July Parade and Fireworks Festival
Summer in Solvang heats up with one of the city’s most popular parades, Solvang Rotary’s annual July 4th Parade. Dozens upon dozens of parade entrants such as classic cars, prancing horses, dance troupes, drum lines, and brass sections travel along the July 4th Parade route as it winds its way through town.
High school marching bands, motorcycle and car clubs, floats crafted by local businesses, and animated farm animal and pet entries put on their best patriotic display. As night falls, Santa Ynez Valley Rotary’s fireworks festival lights up the Solvang sky in a show based next to historic Old Mission Santa Inés.
Pismo Beach 4th of July
The City of Pismo Beach hosts the annual July 4th Celebration & Fireworks Display event on July 4. Attendees will enjoy local vendors in the Pier Plaza starting at 9am, music from Epic Entertainment from 12pm-9pm, and the best fireworks show on the Central Coast at 9pm. As always, the fireworks will be launched off the Pismo Pier for all to enjoy.
West Coast Cub Fly In Lompoc
The West Coast Cub and Antique Aircraft Fly-In is a summer aviation gathering at the Lompoc Airport. Guests explore restored aircraft on display and meet pilots, but the main event is pilot proficiency games held Saturday afternoon.
