The Solvang Farmer Pumpkin Patch
Spirits of Solvang: Harvest, Haunts and Happenings" returns for a second year with a full month of regularly-running and special events scheduled throughout October. It all begins with the 2026 season opening of The Solvang Farmer Pumpkin Patch (@solvangfarmerpumpkinpatch) on Friday, September 25 (1035 Alamo Pintado Road).
Open daily through Halloween (October 31), the Pumpkin Patch also features a corn maze of more than a dozen acres including a scavenger hunt for hidden symbols throughout the maze, as well as a kiddie maze. “The Patch” will also hold Night Corn Mazes on Friday, October 23, Saturday, October 24, Friday, October 30, and Halloween (Saturday, October 31).
The Great Big BOO at Gilroy Gardens
The Great Big BOO brings a lit-up BOO Trail, themed rides and live shows to Gilroy Gardens on select dates, Sep. 25–Nov. 1.
Come in costume and follow the BOO Trail trick-or-treating stations throughout the park. This is a FREE, safe, & family-friendly experience for all ages to collect candy throughout Boo Alley! Either a single-day admission ticket or valid Premium Membership is required for admission to The Great Big BOO!

Meet The Makers: Art & Wine Walk
Downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea still belongs to its artists. The 7th annual Art & Wine Walk starts at Devendorf Park and winds through galleries owned by the painters, sculptors and makers carrying on the village’s artist colony legacy.
Blue lanterns mark participating stops, and an online map lets you build your own route. Along the way, taste Monterey County wines and beers alongside food from local kitchens, with the artists themselves in the room to talk about the work.
Ponies by the Sea Car Show @ The Channel Islands Harbor
Rev up your weekend at the Ponies by the Sea Car Show, returning to Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard on Sunday, October 11, 2026!
Hosted by the Tri-County Mustang Club, this annual Oxnard car show brings together Mustang enthusiasts from across Southern California for a waterfront showcase of classic cars, modern muscle and high-performance Mustangs.
From beautifully restored 1960s pony cars to powerful modern Shelby GT500s, visitors can stroll through an impressive lineup representing generations of Mustang history. 80th Annual Pismo Beach Clam Festival
The 80th Annual Pismo Beach Clam Festival returns October 17–18, 2026, with two days of food, entertainment, and family fun that have anchored this Central Coast tradition for eight decades. The clam chowder cook-off is a signature draw, with local restaurants competing while you sample your way through the contenders.
Tickets sell out, so be sure to buy them when they go on sale September 1. The Saturday 10 AM festival parade brings the community out in force, rolling through town with floats, music, and plenty for kids to cheer on. Add in live entertainment, family activities, and a vendor village full of local treats, and it's an easy weekend to build a Pismo getaway around.
Santa Barbara Vintners Festival
The Annual Santa Barbara Vintners Festival is the largest tasting of Santa Barbara County and your chance to try more of that Santa Barbara County wine you love, get to know the people who make it and where they make it from.
Throughout the weekend select wineries host their own events from Thursday until Monday, ranging from winemaker dinners to barrel tastings in addition to the signature Santa Barbara Vintners events.
Panteon Fest

2nd Annual Pumpkin Paddle @ The Channel Islands Harbor
Grab your paddle, put on your best costume and celebrate Halloween on the water at the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Paddle at Channel Islands Harbor on Saturday, October 24, 2026!
Kayakers and paddleboarders are invited to take part in this festive Halloween paddle in Oxnard, beginning at the East Bank Day Dock and making its way through Channel Islands Harbor to the docks at Peninsula Park. Participants can paddle at their own pace while enjoying a fun morning on the water surrounded by fellow costumed paddlers.
The Halloween fun continues after the paddle with a costume contest, where participants can compete for gift cards to local Channel Islands Harbor businesses.
Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest
Attention all doggie owners & canine lovers!
Come check out the HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Costume Contest at Ventura Harbor Village on Saturday, October 24th at noon! Space is limited to the first friendly 75 dogs. However, doggies & their owners are still encouraged to show up and attend as spectators regardless – there are always a variety of pups in the audience on this fun-filled day!

5th Annual Parade of Frights @ The Channel Islands Harbor
Get ready for a spooktacular day by the water! The 5th Annual Parade of Frights returns to Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard on Saturday, October 24, 2026, with family-friendly Halloween activities, trick-or-treating and a festive boat parade after dark. Halloween fun begins at 3 PM with landside activities for the whole family. Dress up the kids, enjoy the festivities and collect plenty of free candy while celebrating spooky season along the waterfront.
As the sun goes down, find a spot along the harbor and get ready for the main event. At 7 PM, decorated boats will cruise through Channel Islands Harbor during the Parade of Frights Boat Parade, lighting up the water with creative costumes, Halloween decorations and plenty of spooky spirit.

Pismo Beach Sand Art Festival
The second annual Pismo Beach Sand Art Festival takes place November 7–9, 2026, turning the beach into an open-air gallery of massive, intricate sand murals. Eleven artists from around the world will bring their work to the sand this year, building detailed installations you can watch take shape over the weekend.
The temporary nature of it all is part of the appeal, since every piece washes away with the king tides each evening, making the weekend a one-time chance to see them. It's a relaxed, family-friendly way to spend a fall day on the coast.
Succulent Mushroom Workshop

Solvang’s storied, Danish-style holiday celebration, Solvang Julefest, begins November 27, 2026, with some new facets added to the event line-up that runs through January 3, 2027.
The month-long event stretch will once again include the season-starting Solvang Tree Lighting Ceremony (Friday, December 4, 2026), the Solvang Julefest Parade (Saturday, December 5, 2026), and the New Year’s Eve event, Copenhagen Countdown (Thursday, December 31, 2026, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM).

Morro Bay Lighted Boat Parade
Be dazzled as our maritime community takes to the harbor in decorated boats, kayaks, and more with bright lights and holiday cheer. The Lighted Boat Parade will be held on Saturday December 5th, 2026, starting at 6:00 p.m. on the Morro Bay Embarcadero. While there, check out the "crab pot trees" and visit with Santa by the giant chessboard.
Buellton Winterfest at River View Park
Buellton Winterfest at River View Park. This one-of-a-kind experience is fun for the whole family and a perfect way to kick off the winter holidays! Start the day at Breakfast with Santa in the Buellton Rec Center. There are 2 sittings for this special ticketed event, and reservations are required. First seating is from 9-10:00 a.m. and the second seating is from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
NEW THIS YEAR: The City of Buellton will host a Holiday Drone Show at Winter Fest. Watch the sky light up with fun, festive designs as we get in the holiday spirit. The afternoon brings the Holiday Village at River View Park, 151 Sycamore Drive. This is a FREE event! Come enjoy 20 Tons of Snow, vendors, music, beer & wine, and the lighting of the Christmas Tree at 5:30 p.m.

60th Annual Parade of Lights

This beloved Oxnard holiday tradition returns to the waterfront for a spectacular evening of brightly decorated boats, festive lights and holiday cheer. In celebration of its 60th year, the parade will embrace a colorful Hawaiian and tropical theme, bringing a little island spirit to the holiday season.

Morro Bay Bird Festival
Each year, birders gather at Morro Bay Bird Festival in Morro Bay to spot more than 200 species during one of the top bird festivals in the country. This long-running event includes guided tours, educational workshops, appearances by famous birders, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow nature lovers.
68th Annual Good Old Days Street Festival
The 68th Annual Good Old Days Street Festival is Saturday, May 1st, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and Sunday May 2nd, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Good Old Days Street Festival is Pacific Grove’s premier community event and is returning to Downtown Pacific Grove the first weekend of May!
Each year this FREE event attracts a great crowd of locals and visitors. Vendors from multiple states display their arts and crafts alongside a wide variety of food booths stretched down historic Lighthouse Avenue, the largest gathering of arts and crafts vendors in Monterey County!

8th Annual Santa Barbara County Farm Day
Join Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG) for its 8th Annual Santa Barbara County Farm Day. Over 15 farms, ranches, wineries and agricultural organizations from Santa Maria to Carpinteria welcome the public on Farm Day. Guests can expect a variety of activities, including behind-the-scenes tours, tractor rides, product tastings and giveaways, and plenty of kid-friendly exhibits, all while learning about the farms that feed our communities and the world.

Solvang Danish Days
California’s premier Danish heritage festival, Solvang Danish Days returns this year with three-day event line-up, Friday, September 18 – Sunday, September 20, 2026. This year’s theme – “Solen over dalen” (something to the effect of “Sun over the Valley” in Danish) – will be celebrated, honoring the 1911 establishment of Solvang by Danish-Americans. The 2026 edition of Solvang Danish Days marks the 89th return of the beloved, annual cultural affair.
Enjoy a total Danish immersion experience while helping to preserve Solvang’s authentic Danish heritage. Danish Days guests looking to “live like Vikings” throughout the event will have the opportunity to purchase a “Dane For A Day” VIP ticket bundle (only available online), while those looking to gain quicker entrance to Saturday’s or Sunday’s Æbleskiver Breakfasts may purchase tickets for the Breakfasts online, in advance.

The weekend centers on the free Pismo Beach Corgi Beach Fest on Saturday, held just south of the pier, with corgi races, costume contests, photo ops, a vendor village, and a giant corgi-themed sand art installation. All honorary corgis are welcome to join.

Solvang 4th of July Parade and Fireworks Festival
Summer in Solvang heats up with one of the city’s most popular parades, Solvang Rotary’s annual July 4th Parade. Dozens upon dozens of parade entrants such as classic cars, prancing horses, dance troupes, drum lines, and brass sections travel along the July 4th Parade route as it winds its way through town.
High school marching bands, motorcycle and car clubs, floats crafted by local businesses, and animated farm animal and pet entries put on their best patriotic display. As night falls, Santa Ynez Valley Rotary’s fireworks festival lights up the Solvang sky in a show based next to historic Old Mission Santa Inés.
