OXNARD: The Channel Islands Maritime Museum is hosting a special exhibition titled “The Living Ocean,” presented by the Pastel Society of the Gold Coast (PSGC). An opening reception will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the museum, located at 3900 Bluefin Circle, Oxnard, California.
This group exhibition will showcase around 100 pieces of mixed-media artwork, capturing the stunning beauty and majesty of the ocean, as well as its essential role in sustaining life on Earth. The artists of PSGC, a talented collective founded in 2009, aim to raise awareness of the fragile state of the environment. Many of the 25 members have earned national recognition for their work, with a special focus on pastel art. Their diverse media and unique perspectives come together to highlight the ocean’s profound interconnectedness with life.
The exhibit will run Thursday through Monday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. from Feb. 12 to Apr. 1, 2025.
