Festive Fanfare – Cheery & Bright December Season Concert
Little refreshes the spirit as do the courtly dances and compositional twists of the imagination of the Baroque period. From Telemann imitating the heehaw of Sancho Panza’s donkey in his ‘Don Quichotte Suite’ to Bach’s Second Brandenburg Concerto with its high-flying piccolo trumpet solos this will be a concert that takes the listener on an aural flight of fancy. We welcome guest trumpeter and former principal trumpet of the San Francisco Symphony, Bill Williams, for this program featured along with our own principal flute, oboe, and concertmaster as soloists as well.
There will be a pre-concert lecture presented by Joe Payne that will enhance your enjoyment and understanding of the music. This Pre-Concert Lecture is FREE and open to all concert goers. The lecture will be held just before the concert, beginning at 6:50PM and ending at 7:10PM.
State and county health guidelines in place at the time of the concert will be observed.
