OXNARD – The Channel Islands Maritime Museum is pleased to host its monthly speakers series featuring Betsy J. Green, an author and historian. Green is the author of eight books, including the silent movie filming era.  Did you know between 1909 and 1928, more than 250 silent movies were filmed off the Channel Islands? Daring actors and actresses jumped off cliffs, battled pirates, swam with sharks and rescued mermaids!  Green will speak to this era of filmmaking in depth at the speaker series.  The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025 at the museum.
