The Wineries of Santa Clara Valley, nestled between the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Diablo Mountain Range in the Southern Bay area, offers a diverse array of wines and venues. One visit turns into frequent day ventures once our neighbors in the Bay Area see how easy it is to reach us. Even though the beauty of the area is not evident from the 101 Freeway, the natural countryside, fields of grapevines, and views of the mountain ranges are spectacular from many of our winery backyards.
Don’t be surprised to meet many of the winery owners, winemakers, and others wine lovers during your visit. People are drawn to us for the experience in our indoor and outdoor tasting rooms. They leave with shared stories and a sense of belonging. They know they are valued and appreciated here.
Perhaps most importantly, our wines are superb. We believe that good wine begins with the best grapes, grown in the richest soil, cared and tended. While the winemaking process varies from winery to winery, excellent results extend across the region, guaranteeing that there’s a wine here for every palette.
The Santa Clara Valley American Viticultural Area was one of the first commercial wine-producing regions in California and possibly the United States.
